News clip from last night. I think it is a fair assessment and let's people know that there are operators on the Lake currently fishing and in business,
http://barrie.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=8038...aylistPageNum=1New to ice fishing this year doing my homework and learning for the future years. One thing I have noticed is Lake Simcoe is huge. I am by Cooks Bay and see all the post about Cooks Bay.
The Bay is different from north to south and from west to east. It seems Keswick freezes First, Gilford second, Lefroy was next up to the 5th on the west side, it then froze from the 6th before freezing at the 8th and beyond. Of course then breaking off and floating into the lake from the 8 th North. Being from the west side I don't know the landmarks on the east yet.
I would assume that the ice follows this pattern yearly even if it's only days apart. My point is Cooks Bay can have at least 5 different reports and for people that are new to the lake this could get confusing. Just my observations.
I am thankful for boards like this as I have learnt a ton here.
