So I usualy give away my extra minnows when I'm done. But this time I kept them and want to salt them. I have canning salt, and from what I gather you mix that with the minnow water. But from there things varry. Just wondering if the experts have any advice for this newb.

Lay the minnows on newspaper and cover liberally with salt. I like to leave overnight. In the Am put the minnows and some of the salt in ziplock bags. Put in the freezer and your good to go. I have had some last 2 yrs no problem.

What i do is i put them in a pail or a water bottle and put about a half an inch of salt in dump the minnows in and fill with water and then shake it and then if you want you can dump the water out or keep then in and the longer you keep them in the water though the stomach of them starts to disolve and its alot harder to hook them but the ones that are still in water i dump a few of them down the hole and it does atrack them

I pickle mine---just toss them in a yogurt tub, add salt and water. lid 'em and leave 'em. Don't know why I bother though. Chumming them down the hole doesn't seem to help any.
