Out from Beaverton this morning with Hales and we haven't even so much as got a bite. Judging, spreaders we've tried it all. How's everyone else doing today?

Must be the cold front.

The other weekend we were at Floyds. Caught 50 keepers. Dunno how many we were throwing back.

Tried lures, jigs, wax worms.

Minnows on a spreader and high hook they were smashing though.

Cold front
warm front
east wind'
west wind
too sunny
too cloudy
too deep
too shallow
full moon
no moon

We have a way to justify poor fishing in any conditions!

Try Tim Hales next time we have never been skunked with his operation.... Try something with a rattle in it to call in the perch.. Hope you get on some fish..

They said they haven't even got a bite... That's not pour fishing that's just washing hooks...

Funny.... I had the exact opposite experience with Tim's. Hence I go to Floyds now.

Their huts are relatively close anyways.

Just from my experiences but I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching.....
We used to go to Floyd's but our first trip to Tims we caught over 250 perch, just the most crazy perch day I have ever had...... Both places are great!!!

Are you marking any fish.

If so, downsize everything and slow it down.

Tough fishing?

I'd like to offer some thoughts / suggestions.

Getting skunked is not always the hut operators fault.

Ever notice that some people catch fish even during difficult periods? Hmmmm.....

Slow retrieve........ mix it up as needed.

Colder weather, "some" fish get lock jaw. Many become lethargic. You need to become more creative in getting those fish to bite. Do yourself a favour and think out of that box. I recently saw where a guy was fishing tuna and used his musky lures. Worked very nicely.

You have to find the fish. Move around as needed. Drop and sit does not always work.

You can try using the lightest line you feel comfortable with and then go up if bite starts.

Try tiny jigs with a small piece of minnow.

Possibly add scent to get the attention of fish. Get the fish lateral line sensors working. You create the scenario.

Slow, multiple presentations in same area when bite is slow. Fish hard.

Jimmy Houston used to be so quick in getting his line in the water with minimal down time. It sure paid off for him.

We all make the time to get out on the ice so mixing things up can only benefit you. Ultimately only you can decide what works best for you.

Good luck.

Sonar say 34', didn't mark one fish all day. Walked to 6 close by hut and same story.
