Just an idea for those who have problems keeping their 1 lb tank warm.
Get a soft sided cooler (one that holds 6 cans) and place a couple of foot or hand warmers ("The Hotties") or something like that in the bottom, place your tank on top of them until you need it. They should last a few hours.

Excuse my ignorance but why do you need to keep the 1lb tank warm? Seems very inconvenient. I leave my 20lb propane tank outside my hut and even in -30 ive ever had any issues.

It's a nice idea but with the boiling point of propane being -42'c........is it actually doing anything other than cooling off perfectly good foot warmers?? :-)

I apologize to the experts, I didn't relies I was wrong ill these years.
Don't be offended tailfin. Nobody is saying you're wrong.
We are all just offering our knowledge to discuss a practice you follow. If someone can justify the benefits of doing it, I'm all for it.
The only reason I could ever see needing to keep propane bottles warm is if the contents are contaminated with moisture. That just my 2c.
Have you had problems in the past with propane bottles freezing and becoming inoperable? If so, under what conditions? Are you sure it was the propane and not the heater?

last year in the bitter cold i had a 1lb tank refuse to light. not sure if it was the propane or the valve but in any case we were getting cold. my fishing buddy had the bright idea to warm the tank under clothing with body heat, and it worked. i put the tank under my leg as i sat in my chair and in just a few minutes we had heat.

My heater wouldn't go Sunday morning. Figured the tank was just too cold. Put it down my snow pants for about ten minutes while I banked the hut and got setup. Hooked it back up to the heater pressed the button and voila, we have heat! I could see your method working as well Pat, I just didn't think that far ahead.

my 5 lber was too cold on saturday. Worked when I got home though lol
I had the same issue on Saturday, my 5lb tank, hose and filter assembly wouldn't work properly. I am lucky that I was not fishing alone and I could borrow a 1lb tank from Randaller. I am not sure if it was the tank or the hose but it worked great in the garage when I got home. It was not the filter as I tried running the heater with the filter removed. I don't believe that it was the hose as I continued to have issues after the hut was warmed up and the hose was warmed up in front of the heater. Everything worked great yesterday when it was not nearly as cold.

The only solution I can think of for the 5 and 20 lbers, would be to bring a 1lber and warm that up with body heat. Then use that to warm up the hut and the bigger tank and switch em over afterwards. Had the 5lber in my vehicle for a couple hours beforehand and it still froze up by the time I got to the lake.
