We hit Lake Simcoe for a day of perch fishing with Ice Fishing Outfitters out of Georgina.(Virginia Beach) We sightfished in about 15ft of water, unfortunately we do not know the ice thickness, but to give you an idea there were sleds, quads, and airboats out and about, along with a few cars. There were always fish under us but they were rarely agressive. We caught a lot of dinks, as well as 8 keepers, ranging from 8 inches to about 10-10.5inches. We also lost a ten incher, a 13 plus, and dropped a 10.5 down the hole by accident . The fish came on jigging spoons with minnows, jigheads with minnows, and slab grabbers. Despite some dull periods of time and aggravating moments we had a pretty good day on the water.

Nice report. I find when perch are finicky and aren't interested...I slow down my presentation just to make the minnow dance ever so slightly and it works well.

Lol @ dropping the keeper down the hole. My buddy did that to me On sunday. I was bringing him up, probably about the same size as yours 10-11", and my other rod started banging. Quickly lifted it out of the water and grabbed my other rod, my buddy goes "il grab that for yeah man" takes the fish off the hook for me, slips out of his hands and right down the hole like a torperdo. His name was no longer alan for the rest of the day, he was called "Throw back" and probably will be for awhile lmao. It was starting to get to him by the end of the day. All in good fun though.
