Smaller lures and light Acton rods and minnows... Most hut operators provide minnows... Check Tim Hales fish huts . He is the only one we use now... Never any issues... Good luck on the perch quest!!

I would recommend Randy's, went out with him over the weekend he put us on fish we didn't get anything huge but got some nice 11-12 in keepers and plenty of 10's. But the big ones were there the guys in the hut next to us got about six at least 13 and a 16in pig. Randy doesn't have a website but you can google his number. He charges 45 for the day and let us stay out until 6 he also supplies minnows. I've only been out to simcoe twice this being the second time, the first time I went to cooks Bay Area all we caught were dinks and after reading up on the lake, and talking to other guy it sounds like a good idea to stay away from cooks bay seems to be shallower and you get smaller fish there. Just the info I've got from my little experience of fishing the lake I'm sure other guys on here can give you better info. But not for nothing I was reffered to Randy's by guys I work with that have been going through him for almost 20 years and keep going back so he must be doing something right!!!

I would imagine just guessing on all numbers and perch look lots bigger full of eggs then they really are.Our biggest this year was 12.5 but surely looked like a 14

It wasn't fat but the fish was long. I understand everyone's argument it could be a new record but all the fish caught in that area seemed skinny not full of eggs yet. I this fish wasn't even a 2 pound fish. If it was me that caught you bet your a## I'd have a picture but like I said it was a guy in a different hut. He said it was 16 compared to the biggest I got 12 it had to be at least 15 by the looks of it.
