JakeTrout and I decided to find some “deeper” water this weekend and look for some Simcoe whitefish and Laketrout. My alarm went off at 5am Saturday and I thought to myself “why did I set my alarm, I don’t have to go to work” Oh right, I’m going fishing. We hit the Ice at 6:30 and man was it cold. This was going to be a set the hut up and stay put kind of day. We had found a 60’ flat next to some deep water that produced some nice whitefish last year and it was full of fish as soon as we set up. The -23 temps unfortunately had the fish shut down and the action was anything but fast. That being said, whatever JakeTrout was doing with his vibrato was working as he brought home a nice limit of whitefish.

I on the other had was swinging and missing all day. Thankfully as I was packing up to head home I noticed a “vapor trail” rocketing up after my bait. A few cranks and a nice little laker smashed my vibrato! This guy saved my day!

I usually take better pictures then this…not today!!

I heard that too but found out that they only make them in one batch per year.

There are still a few stores around that have them and there will be more next year.
