i was out fishing on 110 FOW two days ago using my humminbird ice 55. As I dropped my hook past about 80 fow, the signal started getting weak. And when it reached near the bottom, I could barely see my minnow. It could be the current that might have blown my minnow out of the cone range since it was windy that day. but I just want to know if other people use the same device over 100 fow without any problem.

I regularly use an ice 45 in simcoe in kemp bay and have my gain if not cranked right up to 50, then at least above 45. And on a tight cone unless I am fishing with a buddy. Never had a problem

I use a 55 and had the same problem when I 1st started using it. What I can tell you is to ensure your transducer is pointing straight down I don't even use the cord that clips on the ducer anymore or the float and hang the ducer directly from the primary cord. When you are fishing that deep if the ducer is only slightly off level for your lure can go outside the cone angle as you get deeper. Hope that helps!

The ice 55 was an amazing unit in 70 for or less.. but had nothing but trouble in deeper water. Tried everything including a new transducer. Got rid of it... picked up a lx7.... never looked back
