Arrived with Jim at SSIC monday morning and met some other board members and got out to Condos at 1 pm...Man Garnet and crew were busy as he was moving all Condos from first ice spot out to better locations.
We asked and got the oldest 6 man Condo he has so some of the pics are not truly reflective of the space nor newer ones with fireplaces etc.
We dropped lines down at 2pm and bite began at 3pm till 7 pm.......lots of hits and we had to switch to ultra lite, and I mean ultra lite gear in order to get them wiley walleyes
So first evening.......we iced 4 and lost 4 and missed many more. (all under slot)
Day 2 was also good in the early am until 9.30 and we iced 3 more, I had one breakoff with a mid size pike at the hole.
Jim got ill later that day and we fished that evening and the following morning and had to cut our trip short by 1 full day...sucks, but hey it is what it is.
We brought home a limit under the slot and released 3 in the slot
Jim bagged a monster Ling last morning at 34. 8 inches.....what a beast that was
All fish came on large emeralds and drop shot or single minnow and split shot presentations jigging 6 inches of bottom. We were in 29 FOW and no perch around. Ice is 9 inches of blue and it will be driveable after this weekend. We were 8 km out.
Jerry will load some photos and I will add more later......
In short!..........WOHOOO! felt great to be on ice!
Good to hear you had some success, too bad about having to leave but hopfully your friend is OK and then just book an extra trip... I had heard the bungalows weren't that productive the week prior to them being moved so your timing was good.

Yep....he had to set them up shallow and in proximity to another operator. Although some catches were reported he was not on his productive shoals.
He is now.
as ever though, you have to hit it right with weather, I always find that if there is a warming trend, fish are on. If a high pressure system comes in like a cold front....well that's what the beer and food is for right
Can always count on you to provide a detailed account of your trip. Glad to hear you guys did well. 7 of us are heading up for our annual Super Bowl and Ice Fishing weekend. Can't wait to hit the hard water. All the best and keep those posts coming. I trust your buddy is ok now.
