During the summer when and if I fillet fish, I do it outside. I rarely have fish to bring home because I mostly muskie fish. but during the winter, she tried to say do it outside, im like, you eat what I catch, I catch it, fillet it, fry it, and serve it to you and you enjoy it. if you still want to enjoy these perch, im filleting them inside, and not out in the cold. she protested it, but then I showed her I was serious and I made a perch dinner for myself, and she was begging for some. I was like, nope I had to fillet them out in the cold (the coldest weekend of the year, -23 at the time) so these are all mine. after I ate my dinner, she gave in and was like, you can fillet them in the laundry room as long as you clean up afterwards. sometimes tough love is the best way to go. haha.

Don't get me wrong, I love walkin out in the snow and ice towing my tent/sled combo, and fishing for the day. I just love the cold and love winter (although a shitty one this year). but I do all the work (which I don't mind doing, because I love fishing and those perch dinners like everyone), and she eats. Im not an a######, I just don't wanna get frostbite for a couple fish dinners haha.

That's the way to tell your wife, all tough. Give her that look.

Hey, it works, ive had 3 bunches of fish to fillet and done them all nice and warm inside the laundry room. I might have the only girl that would do anything for a perch dinner. including allowing me to fillet them inside. plus, when i was done the first time after doing it inside, i cleaned up real good, and she inspected it (aka, sticking her head in and smelling and looking inside the sink for blood) and said, doesnt smell like fish. now i fillet the fish inside, she gets her perch dinners and doesnt have to go fishing for them (enjoys fishing but only in the summer, thus why kawarthas are perfect, i want quality, she wants quantity and nearly anywhere on those lakes you can get both). Win win, we are both happy. But i shouldnt have to fillet any more, i got enough for a good 8-9 dinners for two, which will be more than enough till bass season opens. she enjoys bass, ill keep some under 2.5 pounds, (if she catches them, while i muskie fish). should give it a try. if your wives love perch as much as mine, you'll be golden!
