I drove by today after work and there were a couple of snowmobile tracks is all. There is like over a foot of snow there and the ramp area is not plowed.

is the snow low and soft enough at the entrance to drive through with an SUV?

Not sure really...is pretty steep and deep and not sure what it is sitting on.

Then again you off-road guys amaze me.

Not sure about there, but is snowing again in alcona

My plan is to go off Oro 2 Friday...walking.

I just came by Oro 2 and people are out fishing.

I spoke with 2 separate groups that had just come off the ice and the fishing had been spotty.

I was checking on the "walking" as I was thinking of heading out tomorrow.

They were all at least 1/2 my age and they were saying how hard the walking was. A foot of snow in general with drifts of 2 feet.

I won't be out tomorrow in those conditions.

Fished off Oro 2 this morning. One word to describe the walk out, NASTY. Average 1foot of snow with drifts as high as 2feet. The ice is good 6-8in. As for the fish, some lookers but none willing to commit. Didn't see any machines zipping around.

I am out tomorrow...looks like a chance to try the new snow shoes.

Heading out with two buddies, I figure this is going to be the shortest walk at least.

They really wanna head out.

A buddy of mine did well there today around 120 foot depth.
Said brutal walk but close to 9 inches of ice.
He was sending me pics all day so I know he did really well.
