Hi Folks:
Went for a short walk around 1:00 p.m. to check on the ice conditions. While out on the lake on the main trail between Snake Island and Island Grove I found a trailer hitch for either an ATV or ski doo sitting on top of the snow. Please PM me if you lost a hitch and can identify it.
BTW - the snow on top of the ice has started to turn wet and sticky and has compressed 50-60% since late Saturday afternoon. I didn't encounter any slush but I suspect its around due to the fact it is currently 4C and the snow is melting and dripping off the trees etc.
Currently, travel on the lake is much better than on Friday and Saturday due to the fact the deep snow has settled and the sticky snow allows for traction while walking etc., however, slushy areas would be best to avoid.
Hope this information helps out board members and the owner of the missing trailer hitch reads this message and contacts me.
