Hi Folks:
Not sure if I was crazy, determined or whatever but we decided to head out on the lake this afternoon with hopefully better results than yesterday.
We loaded up and I started to walk out on the ice carrying my handy shovel while "The Boss" finished parking. As I approached the boat ramp I heard someone calling my name. I didn't see anyone I knew but I could tell who was calling my name. I stopped and talked to a board member who knew me only from my posts and he guessed who I was. I stopped and we chatted for a few minutes until "The Boss" arrived on the quad. As we were about to head out on the lake the board member offered to watch to insure we were able to cross the channel to the island and if we had any problems the board member offered to tow us with his ski doo.
We headed out onto the lake and the snow conditions were not much better than yesterday. I offered to walk but "The Boss" thought we would be OK but it didn't take long before we got stuck. We started to dig out the quad, however, before we could finish the board member pulled up with his ski doo and after a few minutes we figured out a system to hook up our quad to his ski doo and he towed us across the channel.
Not sure if it was fate or what that we arrived at the lake when the board member was sitting on the shore after returning from a day on the lake. Trust me we were extremely happy he came to our rescue.
Our knight in shining armour or should I say on his shiny ski doo goes by the board name of Chongo and his name is Eric.
To the many board members who have sent me a PM or email indicating how much they appreciate my posts on the lake/ice conditions I have to say its nice to hear that my posts are appreciated. In addition, it was nice to hear that Eric recognized me via my posts and assisted us today while we were stuck out on the lake. The positive comments and the offer of assistance today to someone who was a stranger except via my posts are yet one of the many reasons I support and continue to share information on this site to help other board members.

Awesome Nancy - Makes me feel good! I was stuck with my 4 wheeler once in a large slush bed & before I could start digging her out a stranger came along on his sled, offered assistance, towed me out. So now we know there are at least 2 good sameratins out there! LOL! I'm sure there are many more. Fishermen, hunters, campers & outdoors people are the best.
