Hi Guys ; On Sat feb 4/2012 there was a meeting at the Honeywwod arena to bring us up to date on developments and give a report on the possible affects on our water.,should this quarry be approved. There were numerous speakers including local politicians who in my opinion did their usual of evading direct answers and commitment. The most awaking presentation was by Mr. Davidson from Walkerton ( sound familiar ), He recounted the Walkerton water disaster and the immediate and "LONG TERM" loss of life and health developments years down the road. NDACT has recruited the services of legal consul ;I would assume the funding for this came from "Foodstock" contributions last fall. She was very effective and obviously very well versed in the field of environmental issues and laws. The Steelheaders president attended along with many other concerned parties ,locals and many from very far away, all in all an overflowing house. "BUT" on a positive note, due to the enormous negative response to this issue ;an 'ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT" was ordered by the province. At the present time it is in the hands of the province following which "HIGHLANDS CORP" has to provide grounds to proceed..
Sorry to be so long winded ; "BUT" I WOULD REQUEST EVERY OUTDOORS MINDED PERSON OR RESIDENT OF ONTARIO ..GO TO WWW.NDACT.COM ". To inform yourself on this matter that could possibly "END YOUR FISHING !!!!!" I will see you at the next m&g....bent rods

Thank-you for the information on this meeting and making our voices heard. As a fellow steelheader, this really bothers me.. Some beautiful headwaters in that area.
