Took a tour today, started at Owen Sound...Report ;open water from sydenham falls to as far as you could see into the main sound. As a note ,there were 4-6 BOATS fishing off the river mouth on the weekend with very limited success. There was one tiny patch of ice around the ferry. Then to the mouth at Leith ,,Total open water , two fishing ,Nil. .Down thru Meaford and THornbury ..Total open water ,no fishermen..Craigleith All open water ..No fishermen (bad sign)..

Dont know at this point ..All rivers were very low and clear, like mid summer. There is no snow base anywhere ,so the chances of a good runoff don't look good ; But mother nature can change things in a hurry ...lets hope.....for what its worth......no fish were harmed on this tour bent rods

Yeah it's pretty scary seeing our moisture level is down by 10% compared to last year. I hope we get snow or lots of rain to bring the levels back up to normal for the year.
We fished the Indian about 1 1/2 - 2 months ago and caught two steelhead each.

~ tight lines ~

Hmmm,,,a couple of weeks ago that Natasha chick that does the weather on City news said with all the rain this winter that ground saturation was already more than ample for the water levels this spring. I guess time will tell

The ground may be fairly saturated but there's little or no snow pack yet to provide spring runoff. Lake levels could be a problem next summer

Man the way the lakes, streams and fields are, I think this year may be a time of water shortages and crop failures. We need lots of snow real quick.

You said it and we are getting it ..at least some.

Funny, I was just thinking about lack of snow.[prairies.here as well and it bodes not well for lake levels.

Took a ride today from Owen Sound to Collingwood.
Owen Sound has ice in the harbour about 2" -2 1/2 " not safe enough with this weather.A few people fishing off the East side wall. The Sydenham river has a lot of colour but this warm weather should bring in more fish, a few people fishing did not see any being caught. Meaford has a lot of ice from the 26 Hwy down to the marina with only 1 fishable run lots of colour here to, a few fish being caught; no ice outside the harbour walls easy access to fish but watch the rocks of the breakwalls (Very slippery). Thornbury has no ice good water level but very clear a couple people fishing did not see anything caught.CraigLeith no ice about 5-6 people fishing here did not see anything caught. Collingwood Harbour good ice lots of people fishing and a couple fish caught, open water after the harbour a few people fishing the lake side did not see anything caught here.

Hey Onthemoney
Good report. Thank you.
I may head over that way this week for some Steelheading rather than go to Lake Rosseau for small Lake Trout.
