West End or Southeastern end of lake, June/July trip plans

Looking for my first trip to this walleye factory--so it is called. Have found 2 resorts that peak our interest. One is located in the western end (Deluxe Camp) and one in the southeastern (South River Cabins). So, since they are both comparable in quality and cost the major question is --where is the fishing more productive 1st - Late June and 2nd - Late July. These are the times we plan on coming up-not sure yet we will pick. I trust the word of fisherman before listening to a camp owner even though many are genuine in their desire to provide for their visitors. I will be seeking walleye, pike, and small mouth. Anyone with experience in these parts of the lake that would like to share or point me to a site/forum to ask, I'd be grateful for your help. Have fished deep woods Quebec for the past 16 years and seek a new experience.

I can't help you there David. I've never been that far north. Welcome to the board though and I'm sure some of the more knowledgable anglers will point you in the right direction

You need to check out Greening Bay Cottages, Dan and Lynn do a great job, good cottages, fishing etc 705-752-3558

2 hour crawl on old logging paths and maybe see 1 other boat for the week. Loved it when I was younger but my taste has changed.

Welcome walleyedave, check on the internet for Idle Tyme camp and send them an email. They are located on Callander Bay and the owner Shaun does charter fishing on Nipissing for pike and muskie, he may be able to give you some advice on which may be the better place to stay/fish. Shaun has lived on Nipissing all his life and knows the lake well.

South Bay area
Late June;
Bass opens June 23rd most smallies are still guarding there nest then, It's like taking candy from a baby.
Pike action still active as waters are still cool.
Walleye then are starting to stage up on the humps out in the main lake but are mostly on the reefs closer to shore.

Late July;
Bass fishing is good in the weed beds along the shoreline as well as rocky points.
Pike action can sometimes slow down as water warm in the shallow bays, best spots are weedbeds near cooler deep water drop off's
Walleye are now thick on the main lake humps in usually 32'-38' fow with jigs with stinger hooks and worms. The action is hot in the weedbeds of Hunter's Bay on winding days with a worm harness.

Anyone else out there willing to shed some light on the cycle at Nippising?

Looking like it will be the end of June since I prefer cool rather than hot days to fish.
