And I spent $60 on lures and walked out with a nice mix of 27 crankbaits, spinners, minnows, spoons and jigs etc. Thank you everyone who mentioned to look at the Dollarama's. I have been checking out the location on Fittons every time I am in town and finally found some in the camping section.
I know they are Chinese junk however I am on a very very strict budget and I really enjoyed blowing all my fun money on them. Worth every cent and I will not feel discouraged when I loose one.

I checked out a Dollarama in Hamilton today. They had a lousy selection of baits. But I will keep checking different locations.

When made in China or other country and not under full control of the manufacturing process by a North American firm or ??, the concern is that inferior wire is used to make hooks in order to keep costs down. Hooks may bend or break at the wrong time. Anglers work hard to save money for their fishing so a cheap hook should not ruin a chance at a quality or trophy fish. This is especially true for those who only get out once or twice in a season. Anglers who buy lures from such places tend to upgrade the hooks on such lures.
Clearly a personal choice.

Thank you
I will check the hooks.

Why was my post moved to the outdoors forum when truly it was about FISHING lures?

Just curious.

Dollarama hooks are for when I go panfishing.
I just picked up a popper frog from Georgina dollarama yesterday, and it looked better than my more expensive frogs.

I grabbed one as well for when we get the boat back from getting some engine repairs done and we can try for bigger fish and it was very cute. The frog that is.

Rainier, agreed.
I'm currently handing the frog on my rear view mirror.
I picked up a shad crank today as well while my gf was shopping for cat toys.

Went to Home Hardware here in Huntsville, and picked up a couple of these surface poppers yesterday.
They are 4" with lot's of rattle beads inside. Float and rip water really nice, the hooks are razor sharp and super strong and with the amount of beads in them they cast like a heavyweight. Nicely painted details.

I was impressed and at $1.39 who was I to argue. Went out early this morning and got this pike using this plug and a 6" green/gold floating Rappala.

Not that I'm aware of unless the boat has wheels or wings .
