just going to update 2 things. not going to be accepting day of tourney "walk ons" any more. you need to give me 24 hrs notice. I really want to be able to gauge numbers.
I know it's far away and stuff happens but that will make it much easier.

Campsite is booked, Vacation is booked, now just need to make time to get some prefishing in. I'm assuming the pigeon river is fair game for the tournament too?

QUOTE (gskipwith @ Jul 25, 2016 - 08:47 pm)
My motto this year is 'say yes.' I've never fished a bass tournament so why not. Don't know the lake either but it sounds like fun.
Can anyone provide guidance on how to get an aerated cooler, as I have a bow rider.
I'll have a friend with me. Team name is milque toast.
that's boat number 17 looking like really good numbers so far baring any cancellations. should be a fun time.
as for the cooler. you could reach out to wildmar, he won the first gold bass tourney with an aerated cooler and so would me the master of advice on that one.
I believe he got the kit at bass pro and added it to his big cooler. this will help with the fishes oxygen but you will also have to make sure the water doesn't get to hot in the cooler (if it's a really hot day out) and so i'd either bring some ice. (not to much, just enough to keep the water at lake temp) or you will keep adding lake water to the cooler to even the temp.

I have used the cooler method for a couple of friendly tournaments in the past. A good aerator (possibly 2) and back up batteries are needed. The bigger the cooler the better and like Fork said, ice to keep the water cold. We would freeze 1.5 L water bottles and keep them in a smaller soft sided cooler and add them to the "livewell" as needed to keep the water cool enough. We never had a problem with fish die offs and for the most part the fish were pretty lively when weighing in. Good luck!
