Don't know just how far "north" you're talking about, but I've been to Waterfalls Lodge twice and both times were just remarkable. The lodging was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the fishing.....oh, the fishing! We stayed a full week both times and I'd go back again in a heartbeat. The main lake receives very little fishing pressure because there are very few homes on it's shores. There are a few other outlying lakes that they arrange ATV trips to that have trout and some monster pike. The main lake has smallmouth, pike and lakers.

Biscotasing. It's north of Sudbury pretty remove. Ritchie's end of trail resort up there. It was features on fish tv this summer. I went for a week in May camped back country but had s great time. Amazing fishing and quite lake. It's about a 8 hour drive from Lindsay don't know if that's out of ur comfort zone. There's a pretty detailed thread on the northern lakes site with pics and reports. Defenatly worth the trip I'll be heading back next year
