Well, after a few days of licking our wounds I thought I'd share our report.

First off thanks again to Matt for putting this together. Great little event, well run and really nice to meet some members.

We had a great day of catching fish. We had a limit in the first hour and started upgrading from there. we likely released 15 or more bass that weighed between 2 1/4 lbs to 2 1/2 lbs and caught countless bass from 2lbs and less all day. We just didn't get that one big bite we normally get from this body of water. We likely burned less than pop can of gas !!!! We ended the day in 2nd place with our total of 13.47 lbs.

We had a great morning bite throwing havoc grasspig swimbaits. I caught our best fish from a key dock that weighed 3 lbs. we flipped mats that didn't produce this weekend, pitched pads, worked shorelines with senkos and jigs. We had one boat house late in the day that a bigger fish came out from under but it wouldn't bite. Tried to get it to commit for 5 minutes or so. I lost one from under a weed mat that felt like a good fish but who knows, we never saw it. It came off under the thick canopy.

All in all we caught maybe 30 + fish on the day, but all ended up being clones. This was our 4 th tourney in 4 weeks on the tri lakes. In the last 2 weeks we have moved 4 fish over 5 lbs and 2 five fish limits that weighed 21.5 and 16.8 lbs from pigeon to chemong for weigh in. its been a great 4 weeks of fishing small events. Two 1st place and two 2nd place.

Again thanks Mat... And I hope my reports are helpful to some members on here.

Scott

I would also like to say congrats to the winners once again and to all the others who came out. It appeared all teams weighed in a limit and some where able to find one big fish over 4 lbs. good on you guys.

Licking wounds?
Your bring in was nothimg shy of a good bag considering how much self inflicted pressure you've been putting on your spots in the last while.

Thanks for sharing your report, always nice to read valuable insight from a knowledgeable angler. Congratulations on your recent successes too; regardless of the tournament size, placing well always comes with that satisfying feeling at the end of the day.

Nice report Scro! I definitely figured you knew your way around when you passed me at blastoff heading up river, saw you coming up from the rear, then you disappeared behind some reeds then reappeared in front of me. I'm not to familiar with the river so I figured I'd take it a little slower. I had a great time for my first tournament, I was happy to have 5 alive at the end of the day. Can't wait for next time! I grew up in buckhorn, shore fishing a lot of the upper section and always having great success, I'd like to plan to get back out there. Do you know of a good launch on the upper buckhorn?

Thanks for sharing the techniques! Those were some nice fish. My buddy and I placed 11th , we got our 5 bass limit by 10am but couldn't upgrade much, anything over 2 pounds was hard to find for us. Caught probably 10 fish that were a pound or less. Also hooked up with a 25 inch muskie and a 20 inch walleye! Lol. Our biggest bass was 2.4 pounds and it was caught on a live target frog. Looking forward to the next one it was a fun day
