So Since Scugog is closed for walleye and i have recently moved East further away from Simcoe I think i am going to fish on rice out of Bewdley this winter. I havent fished that spot yet. Anyone on here ice fish that area? I am thinking of throwing together a permanent hut. How`s the fishing there?

Most of the lakes in 17 are closed for walleye during the winter season...but that said, check out Crowe Lake, one of the very few in the area that is open for winter eyes (ATM)- otherwise, look at the BoQ- but don't push the ice just yet- still lots more time to enjoy the open waters......

I myself don't have access to a boat but have found many nice shore fishing places. I've caught a lot of nice fishes from shore during the fall time. Mind you I'm all about steelheading though when it comes to fall fishing but will fish other species as well. Depending on what type of fishes you are after, I know a lot of the big ones will come out during the fall. Rice lake is a hit or miss during the winter times so be prepared for skunk days or dink days.

My biggest perch was 6 inches out of the rice in the winter on 3 outings. Friend has a cottage right in Bewedly there. Lots of small pan fish though so keeps it interesting but nothing of size. That's just my personal experience
