It was my first time on the lake in twenty years and my goal was eyes... However I did pretty good for all other species. Perch pike and bass all made it in the boat but it took ⅔ of the day too find some active fish.. The last spot I tried looked to be perfect for walleyes and missed a couple of smashes on my jig and
minnow. Both hits shreaded the minnow and I'm pretty sure there where some walleyes under the boat but it was starting to get late and not knowing the lake I headed in around 8 pm not wanting to be out in the dark...... Talked to some bass guys who had a great day fishing for bass....
Good luck...

Any advice for pickerel spots as the season changes into the fall and the water begins to drop in temperature?

Regards,
Mark

Go through the week if possible so much less boat traffic and that will improve the bite..
Just find the weed lines they should hold all kinds of fish.. Minnow and jig got them all except for a perch on a spinner with plastic worm tipped with minnow head....

A guy from Ohio was up last week for 4 days caught 9 or 10 Walleye and a bunch of Bass on spinner harnesses tipped with worm thats the way he likes to fish . He said he and his son had a good trip . Most of his fish came from the deeper weed edges . Some of the Bass were caught on Perch colored cranks .

I'm looking at 3 walleye right now. Just off my dock...I'm going to tie on a drop shot with anything that looks like a shad. It's really windy, so I'm going to play it slow. This time last year my wife pulled in a 25 incher, and I pulled in a 27. Good luck!
