I am new to fishing the kawartha lakes area and so far in the past week I have fished lake scugog and sturgeon lake. On scugog I targeted panfish in 5-8 feet of water and caught a one man limit of perch however not one big enough to keep. On sturgeon I fished in goose bay in 3-5 feet of water and in shallow I caught 1 crappie and bluegill however seen many others that were just too finicky to bite. Out deeper caught about 20 perch but only a couple boarder line keepers as well as a small walleye and seen other walleye down there too. Everything was released. I was just wondering about possible lakes or locations for pike fishing seems how walleye are out of season and those are two of my favourite eating fish. I am not looking for anyone's secret honey hole, just wonder about general information for pike fishing in the kawartha's.

No pike in sturgeon, don't think any in Cameron and I've heard some possibly in balsam. My place is on sturgeon and I have never heard of anyone catching pike. Lots of musky though but you are right walleye and musky are currently out of season.

They are littered in Cameron.

You might have good luck fishing mitchell lake. Just stay away from the bridge as there is quite a current

I will second the fact that the pike haven"t infltrated Cameron yet, dread the day i catch one there, too many muskies in the burnt river for the pike to take......I hope!
