Since the weather has been really warm for this time of year and I am on vacation what's better to kill time then to go fishing. Especially considering the fish have been on fire for me as of late.
I was finally able to get out fishing with my step dad.
He had a stroke late last year and was recovering from it most of the bass season. And when he was better I was busy having a dark cloud chase me around. I was only able to get out with him once this year and it was cut short due to a flat tire.
Aby way I convinced him that it was going to be a nice day out and with the cold front moving in the next day that the fish were going to be on the feed bag huge. He agreed but only if we got a spare tire for the boat. He's ex navy and says u never invite trouble. Me I'm convinced that my bad luck is over for the year and so don't care about having a spare. AnY way we stopped and got a spare as well as a weigh scale as mine broke about a month ago. We didn't end up needing the tire in the end but we definitely needed the weigh scale.
The fish were on fire.
I got most of it on camera although my camera was pointed a littletter to high up in the air you can still see lots of good fishing.
Unfortunately the video I made is 20 minutes long and so I don't have enough storage to save it to my phone.
So I made a short version shown below.
In this video after I've been hammering them with spinnerbaits I finally convince my stepdad to put one on. He never uses them because he finds they always tangle around the blades. He takes his first caSt and we laugh about it screwing up on him. Then I get one on close to the boat that feels small but when it dives under the boat I realize it's a big one and ends up weighing in at 5.20lbs. My second biggest of the year. Very shortly after my step dad lands a nice one about 2 and a half lbs and then I catch a 3 pounder.
It was a very good day on the water and the fish definitely were on the feed bag. In a few short hours my step dad ending up catching 4 bass all between 2 and 3 pounds and I caught about 12 with only one under 2 pounds.
It was a great time and great to be out having fun with the person who introduced and got me hooked on fishing in the first place.
