This Friday my dad and I fished the scugog river for muskies we launched in lindsay and headed down towards scugog, I was twitching a jerkbait and had a big muskie smash it buy hardly fought at all until I got him near the boat then he took a run and broke off so back to casting and this time my dad gets a hit on his spinner, I grab the cradle and then we realize it's not a muskie but a surprise big walleye! So a quick pic and it's safely released. We fished for another hour with no luck so called it a day. Saturday I headed to the Trent river system to target pike, got on the water by 8am and started throwing a jerkbait and caught a little smallmouth right away, kept casting and caught a nice 3 pound smallmouth that jumped and fought great. After another 2 hours of no bites decide to call it and head back to the launch, while my buddy is backing in the trailer I take a cast off the dock and boom! Nailed a 30 inch pike! Great way to end the day. Hopefully will be back out soon!
