Spent part of the day in the Kawarthas today for possibly the last weekend of fishing (may still get some time during the week). Started the day fishing for bass in my usual areas with no success....not even a follow. So I decided to target the walleyes in a few of the deep holes. Fished for 2 hours in 50 FOW and managed a couple of 12" fish. Moved to another hole that was 42 FOW that also had a small hump at 20 FOW. Managed one 3/4lb perch and 4 more walleyes. 3 were also around 12", and one that ended up being 6.9lb. Everything went dead after that so packed it in. Still, no complaints because it turned out to be a beautiful day and the Kawartha colours are just about at peak.

Nice fish!
Would love to catch more walleyes myself. So far I only got when fishing for bass at the edge of the weedlines.

What did you use to target them in the deep?

Alex

It took a 3" Gulp minnow on a 3/8oz jig head. I originally thought I was hung on a rock until it started swimming!

Sounds like a good day on the water. If that is your last fishing trip of the year it's a good way to end a season.

Beauty! Still waiting for my walleye. I've been watching them swim around my shoreline this weekend.
