With the crazy winds last weekend I decided to head to the Otonabee River and see if I could connect with a few fall largemouth. I have a nice little spot that is protected from even the strongest winds (unless they are from the NE). When I arrived I realized that the winds had switched and was blowing right into my spot. This limited me to a very small area, so I decided that pick it apart with a jig. The weeds were still surprisingly green and I knew if I fished slow enough I would run into a fish or two. I had 6 hits all day and unfortunately only put 1 in the boat, thankfully it was a scrappy little musky.

This guy had an old beat up lip but it didn't slow him down.

I have had a great season and look forward to a small break before the lakes freeze over.

Nice work. My plan was to hit ottonabee and trent on Friday but the winds seemed too high and I am still learning my limits with the kayak so decided not to risk it. I tried to get out for a bit on sunday on frenchmans when the wind died a bit, but it picked up again by the time I got there and I lasted 5 minutes before I turned around and headed back to shore. Looks like ice will be my next trip out!

Nice muskie and yes it's mouth sure is messed up.
Probably ended up on the wrong end of some trebles when it was smaller.
Thanks for the report and definitely some hard work there...
