Checked out Starr Bay earlier, someone took their snow machine out on the ice. I didn't check the thickness but plan on heading out there tomorrow. Gonna spud my way out and hopefully get into some fish.

Be very careful , I was checking the ice today and it was decent about 3-4 " and went out a bit and there was just over an inch . The snow really messed it up

Went out to Starr Bay again today and it didn't look too good. Was able to chisel my way through after four strikes with the chisel. This snow is not helping!

Just checked and there's over 4 inches, couple inches of good black ice but the top layer was junk white ice. I was breaking through with 5-6 hard hits with my chisel. There were a few guys out fishing though. Too sketchy for me but hopefully soon.

Huh! You actually saw some guys out on the ice already! I guess they feel a few fish is worth the risk!
Yeah seemed pretty crazy to be out on the ice. I am looking forward to a good crappie fry but I'll stick to halibut house until there is safe ice haha.
