It's a pretty good spot. Good sized portions. Not sure if they do it anymore but there used to be an all you can eat fish and chips deal during the week.

Thank you sir. Live minnows vs plastic fishys? If the ice isn't very good now, the coming week won't be much help as it is warming up quite a bit compared to last week.

invesWas just out on scugog 5 min ago. Drilled holes out to 50 feet from shore by gilson point. At 50 feet there was about 2.5 inches of clear and some crappy ice and slush layers on top. I didn't venture any further.

You still can fish just not for eyes. This is the second year closed walleye so my guess is 8 more years 2025. Or until index netting shows a significant increase in maturing walleye and good yearling stock. If that doesn't happen then it would stay closed best way to help the walleye. Harvest as many crappie and perch and panfish as legally allowed. Reduce Scugogs population density and allow a greater chance for fry walleye to reach maturity. Scugog has so much panfish that they are stunted in growth on average and the baby walleye are born into an environment we're every square foot there are predictors and people wonder why the species is suffering.

Totally agreed, this spring and summer I did caught a few BIG Walleye, 3-5 lbs. of course all released, looks like it helps a lot, I guess it will close atleast 5 years, it's fine to me. I still can do bass fishing in summer and ice fishing for big Crappie. Hope can go on ice after New Year.

I heard that it would be 18 years after the closure than 2 more years after that to come up with a management plan. Regardless of when it is there will never be an ice fishing season for walleye on scugog again.

Hey guys. Had my dad check the ice off the dock in the nonquon. 4-5" of garbage ice. Not great news. Growing up on the river there was always 1-2" inches more out on the lake. But its still unstable ice. Good looking thaw coming monday followed by a good freeze. That will help drastically.

I live on island road. Close to Goreski's. Just walked on the shoreline, with spud bar and only 3" of sloppy ice . Heard sleds ripping by!! Ice is not safe! Lots of slush. Give it time. It will come. Plus 7 and rain next week. Followed by some cold weather. That should clear some of the snow off. To make the ice form a little better, I hope!!

20 years plus no walleye icefishing.. fine but no ice fishing permenately grasshopper say it ain't so! I can deal with 20 years, the walleye need the break but forever..
