Have trip planned for simcoe next weekend but i'm worried about ice, thinking about switching to Scugog. Coming from Pa, wondering if thats a good move or if i should just hold off for better ice on simcoe. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I was on Scugog Saturday and the fishing wasn't that great, but it's called fishing and you don't always catch. I think you should be go to go on Simcoe as long is you don't go out to far and just fish for perch and pike.

I just seen a report that the ice is looking dodgy on Simcoe after the rain we got. Play safe and check before you head out anywhere. It's amazing how things can change soooo fast.

Yea I'll probably wait it out a couple of days before changing plans, I'll keep an eye on forcast but doesn't look good next week. Thinking scugog ice will hold up better than simcoe

Definitely Simcoe is the place to go if safe. I booked a couple huts today for simcoe in Beaverton on Saturday. Floyd must think it will hold up in that area. We are planning on sleeping in the huts so we'll see. We are bringing a couple Atvs to help us find the fish as well.

Planning to go myself this weekend probably Saturday morning to scope things out with my son. I live in Hamilton 2 hour drive with no traffic. Not a perch man more for trout/ lakers but will bring my gear if things look nice and safe that day. Wife wants us OUT for the day she wants her down time.

Hey Jordantaylor12 i was out on ceasera on Tuesday there was 8 inches where I was but be aware of pressure crack 150 feet out from launch looked to span across most of the lake east to west

Thanks buddy . i am planning on going up to bewdly area just to be safe . heard there was a of cracks up in ceaser and im going alone cant find anyone with tomrrow off!! If i do go there friday or saturday think id be good to stay within 100 feet of lauch?

I called there tackle shop today and the guy i spone to said lots of guys out there today he also said about 8 " of ice before this weather hit .... Im going to check it out in the morning

Go to simcoe east side vb pb or beaverton , scugog is a waste of time tons of tiny perch wouldnt even call em dinks. Simcoe all the way smallest perch in simcoe is bigger than the largest scugog perch

Thanks for all the info, I'll hold off for simcoe even if i have to put it off a week or so. Fishing out of snake island fish huts, heard lots of jumbos there, but believe only 2 in of ice there
