Got out today with my dad and nieces. No luck but still a good time. Yesterday we caught a few walleye that went quickly back down the hole. Here's a pic of the fun.

Can anyone provide decent spots to park and walk out from? I've never fished Sturgeon lake so don't know the area at all and I want to take my sons out even to catch some small perch or something?

Went out today off long point from about 10 - 3:30. Fished about 100yards off shore in about 15ft of water. Ice was fine...about 9" or so. Fished many different jigs/spoons tipped with minnow and no bites. Spoke with another guy in the morning and he got skunked too. Even though no fish or bites I was still very happy to be out on the ice...was a great day!!

Temps aren't too warm up here that we will lose that much ice. Most nights have been below zero and early next week the same then gets colder. As long as you safe and know where to go should be fine over the next week. Places I have measured around my area of pleasant point are well over 10 inches still. People have had trucks out on the ice this week even though I would advise against that. I've got my permanent out and not planning on pulling it off.

No idea but on sturgeon like I have said before in the winter you aren't going to get numbers of perch. If lucky you will get a few perch on one outing but most likely less than 10 and not of much size. We did very well over the weekend but still not size to keep. Lots of small walleye and 3 over 20 inches as well that obviously all went back. I only fish sturgeon cause I have a place there and my hut is a 100 yards out. When I want to catch keepers and put in more effort I go to simcoe.
