Hey everyone, I'm in Collingwood with a bunch of time off awaiting on knee surgery and not allowed to drive (MCL and cartilage). I have all my own gear for all manners of fishing minus the graph, I can walk and drag my sled with not too much of a worry as I was just out yesterday on Cooch. So if u would like some company I am interested in all species of fish and have total respect for all. Good luck and happy catching.

When these "buddy-up" threads appear of various fishing boards, they do so with the best of intensions for sure. But, as in other interests/activities in life, I've found the hardest part of getting together is akin to someone actually "picking up the phone". How many times have you or a buddy/neighhour/etc. said they'd love go there, try that, help out,..... But it never happens. The hardest part is "picking up the phone" to make it happen (it should be the easiest) -- or, putting yourself out there to follow through. Not trying to preach,... I'm as guilty as the next guy for sure. SDC has been great at this -- an "ambassador". I hope this season makes many new connections/fishing buddies. Have a great season on the ice.

Hi all, I'm a weekday fisherman and like to go out when it's a lot quieter...I will go out weekends on occasions but prefer the week. I have all my own gear and usually go out by myself walking. I fish all over and don't mind driving to different places. Im always open to having others tag along...I'm not that good at the ice but hold my own in my boat in the spring and fall, for salmon and bows!! If you have the time and want some company feel free to send me a message. Thanks and tight line So!!

When the ice is finally safe in a couple of weeks, i am out regularly from 30th side road out by Big Bay point.

Always happy to walk out and give pointers to people looking to try for some Lakers.

I have all the gear and even some extras.

Like SDC i usually post when heading out.
SDC, we are gonna make it out together this season for sure. Anyone else joining us be prepared to walk.

Hey Kevin

Just caught your post.

For sure we need to get together this winter.

We can compare our Smittys

Ralph

I find myself in the same situation as many of you. Don't have a lot of fishing buddies and to someone's point they are wimps and don't want to bear the cold. I have always used and outfitter when I go, but finally broke down and bought a pop up. It would just be nice to go out and enjoy a day of fishing with someone rather then sit there by myself. I am from the Orangeville area and free pretty much every weekend and if I feel like a sick (fish) day.

Pm sent

Well I am that guy who does not pick up the phone... but in this case I am the guy they are calling to come out with. My neighbour been breaking my nuts to come so I pack the car at midnight for the early morning get away. I have family and friends recently texted me they got a fishing license this year and ready to go when I say the word. I feel bad they just wasted money if they are waiting for me. I usually decide my fishing trip night before and never much earlier then that. Others who do not fish as I do cannot pick their days and need advance notice. I cannot commit to a certain date and say... "whatever weather it is we going". That is not my style and I really do not enjoy those horrible windy days. Been out on those windy days before and everytime I wish I was at work or home sleeping. My patience for people is very low. If we were to go to Tim Hortons and finally get to the counter to order and you still have not figured out what you want.... your dead to me... you don't eat!

^ LMFAO.

I had a family member (in-laws) reach out to me to do some bass fishing on my boat this past summer. I told him to get his fishing licence and then we will talk about a date and time. When the time came and things were planned out, he never woke up on time the day of and he was over an hour away from the meeting place. I left him behind and he never ever got to use his fishing licence last year. His money down the drain.

"My patience for people is very low."
And 1787 posts on a "social media"..... Strange irony.
You can tell us. Were your friends at the dance the pretty ones?! You should come fish with me then.... People will be "nice" to you. Come on! (It's okay to smile and have a laugh.) And yes; the weather kept me home today as well....

I think everyone needs to hit the ice near their home town, and at least look at it and get out of the house.

Mine was neither a serious post nor an invite. Just a humorous observation. No "irony"? Must have passed in print..... Enough for/from me.
