i was out fishing vb yesterday and i chipped approx 5" of white ice

Any fish?

Never had time to check thickness..a sled did go by,but he stuck close to shore,didn't notice where he ended up,as I was shovelling
After finding some binoculars ,it looked froze right across to the island..did see the 3 pop ups out there..was hard to tell,but look like ice was forming to the west of the ferry route also,so that's a good sign...I'm sure there will be plenty on foot this weekend,but I'm with ripley,one more week should make a big difference..

Any fish?

managed one small perch, marked lots, didnt expect to actually get out far enough to fish so didnt bring bait or a selection of jigs. it was good to be out none the less.

Has anyone been around today? Did you see anyone out if so? Might go out tomorrow

Anyone have an update on vb? Looking to get out tomorrow at either vb or couch. Gunna head up regardless, just depends what time I need to wake up at if vb has decent ice or if it's stopping by vb on my way to couch.

I was up yesterday and not a soul on the ice..not sure about today,it's been cold since..wouldn't surprise me if there's some activity tomorrow..this was around 11:00, and temps were dropping.

There is no "safe ice". Just be careful when venturing out

Just went and checked the ice. At the bottom of Haden where mike runs his gig is about 2-3" right off the public dock. The ferry route water has pushed over quite a bit and looked quite spotty from what I can tell I would say a no go to vb until next weekend when we get a couple days that are -12 and colder. Until then..cooch here I come!!
