Broke the Ice! Dec.19/16, An Early Season start!!

And..... We're offfffff...Oh yeah let the games begin! Just to let everyone know I was out today and yesterday on two Back lakes in the Simcoe County and Muskoka area.I was out with forum member Fishing Fan and we proceeded with caution,spud bar,floatation suits ice picks and rope.Also both lakes are well known to us both.They are the first to freeze up on an annual basis!
Our target today was Walleye and Crappie of which neither was co-operative.However we did manage a pair of Pike several perch and who would of thunk it,a friggin Sunnie.The ice thickness on the lake today was 6 inches,made up of approximately 2.5 Blue ice and 3.5 of hard white.
Let the Games begin,and please use caution! And more importantly common sense! Good luck have a Crappie Day!

Did you end up getting a flasher/sonar Dbfish? If so was it worth the investment?

He has one and should have brought it! I misread my flasher. Thought I was on x2 so figured 26ft. Really was on1x so 13ft. Dale kept insisting we were shallow. Wasted the first part of the day way too shallow. See Dale, your electronics would have been helpful. What a dumba$$ I was. Anyhow 2 fun days.
