Hey I'm just wondering if anybody is fishing for anything right now on lake Simcoe and whether it is even safe to go fishing there for anything on the ice. I have a Striker Climate Float Suit but my friend does not. So I need to be weary of where I go. Any other lakes in the area could be helpful too. This is only my second time fishing Simcoe and I have all of the gear, just need the wisdom. Thankyou.

Well here is my words of wisdom to you . Wait for the Hut operators to get operations started . If you have a bud coming along without all the gear then you don't have it either because your the leader and responsible for their safety too.

That's like me saying follow me with my truck on already .

Im thinking Quinte now that everyone is saying there isn't enough ice on Simcoe but has Quinte got enough ice around the Potters creek area to support a pop up hut and a gas auger? or is it not worth it.

Was on potters last weekend and they had about 6" and there were several huts out about 400 yds. IMO safe out there but conditions are always changing

Wind has blown simcoe wide open. There was some ice down in cooks bay 2 days ago but I am pretty sure it's gone now.
