So I'm planning on going out for the trout opener in Halliburton area on New Year's Day. I was wondering if any one could direct me to some lakes with safe ice or as safe as it gets this early in the season under these circumstances. Or at least places lakes I should avoid.
Any information would be helpful I'm not packing my bathing suit.

Lakes up north are very slushy and not safe . Don't go without a floater suit. Also naming small lakes online completely kills the lake with pressure. Goodluck.

Thanks for the help. I have a floater suit and spud bar. As for location I wasn't expecting a online post more so a pm. But thats okay I understand, I will be going regardless tomorrow I was just trying to figure in which general direction I should aim my truck.
