So went to vb first thing to check out the condition. Wasn't to keen on venturing out there as you can see in the Georgina post. So headed to cooch of airport and caught three perch. Kept two of them for a tasty treat and had a MASSIVE pike be-line it right underneath my hole. Kept chasing my bait but wouldn't take it. TANK!! Oh well he put on a good thriller for me hoping I can make it back out this weekend and hopefully head to vb next weekend if all goes to plan.

Alright I'll be the one to ask .....how was the ice....I thought about trying this am but after seeing the dark spots at tudhope before it became snow covered I figured I'd hope for a cpl cold nights first.

The ice wasn't to shabby at the end of airport. Drilled multiple holes at 6-7" with atleast 3 being black. Just wear proper boots cause here's a layer of slush on top

I went up and checked out Tudhope today and nobody was out. Usually thats the first place to freeze up. Thinking my first fishing will be on Jan 1 on Simcoe in my Kayak.

It's calling for plus temperatures the first 3 days of the new year but looking nice and cold from then on. Looks like my season won't start at least until 2017 but good on you for scratching that itch

There was 3 other huts out as well at airport. The warmth might be benificial to melt the snow and then we get those -12 days later in the week to lock it all up

Honestly I was out at airport today and the ice went from a good 7inches to 3 inches real fast, I wouldn't suggest going out unless your prepared for the worst and definately bring a spud!

We were out in 17fow, to the left of airports, tried going out straight to get to 25fow but that's where the ice got thin fast. It seemed to be more consistent thickness to the left towards the island. Though by the end of the day there was lots of wet slushy spots on the surface
