I have seen plenty of Lakers under the ice but nothing biting , they were too busy chasing the herring which were chasing the perch. Just saying they could be right under your nose but have other plans. A little luck plays a key factor as well. Just have patience

You just somewhat described a bait ball that people dream of being over top. If you find a bait ball like that you can top side trout in the double digits within hours.

Guys guys don't get me wrong I have landed plenty of lakers in my life, I just want that lunker that Mondo that pic of life that you carry in your wallet and leave in your will.
Lol plus I'm anything but the guy out to take a spot from anyone. I have all my own gear I carry my own gear and usually share my gear.

Tks

if a trout is feeding under you the percentage of a bite is extremely high, they are never to busy to take an easy target

Ok , I wasn't 100% sure but I would check with the MNR because they are listed as one of the sport fish that we are allowed to fish under 2017 reg and your allowed 2 herring for sport licence and 1 for conservation licence. All the best...

I wish my under water camera had an SD slot but mine doesn't. I would have proof for sure of what was happening under my hut. I have ice fished for 30 years on tgat lake and this was a first for me to witness. Unbelievable sight. The fish finder was just going crazy as well. It was in the month of March that this was taking place.
