I'll keep this short as my posts are usually too long. Went to dalrymple today but went up hwy 23 to scope out port bolster and Beaverton . Driving through Port bolster I could see open water from the hwy, maybe 100 metre or so off shoreline was waves for days so I didn't even stop to get out and check or take a pic.

To my surprise when I got to Beaverton, it was iced over all the way to thorah island. I doubt it's safe as no one was on it at all. I took some pics and decided next weekend I would be back to pull my sled out.

good day,

The bay has been frozen for at least two weeks now out towards Thorah Island. But it is still wide open on the n/e and s/w sides of the Island. We need some cold temps and no wind to tighten up this between Georgina and Thorah before we can venture out for perch at all. The end of this week coming looks promising for colder weather.

Have some patients guys, we all got the itch to get out there, compare to last year season being warm, but this year it's looking good and soon will get are lines wet.

Colder, yes, but unfortunately the wind forecasting sites, are projecting high winds.

Not good for ice making.

If perch grounds arnt ready by next Monday I'm heading to nippissing or boq. Anyways guys if your near the area of Beaverton post updates on this thread so we all know what's going on and not relying on a few people for reports. Happy New Years to all and hopefully we can all see each other on the lake soon rather than on the internet.

after the snow yesterday, the lake has become slushy in a lot of spots in Beaverton. we need cold and no winds so tighten her up a bit.

I agree , this weekend hasn't been the greatest for ice making and mid week another warm front. After next weekend the night temps look real good minus double digits. Couple weeks and I figure the operators will be out.
