Great pictures! Where can you buy this device that the cordless drill is attached to? What's the power of the drill? I bought one that's 500 inch pounds, wondering if it's enough.

Both SAIL and Bass Pro Shop have this CLAM Ice Auger Conversion Kit/Adapter/Plate at around $75
As to the drill, I strongly recommend Milwaukee "M18 FUEL" cordless drill model number 2604-20 (725 IN-LBS) or even the recently-introduced new one with model number 2704-20 (1,200 IN-LBS). And get the Milwaukee "M18 RedLithium" 4.0AH or 5.0AM or even the new 9.0AH battery pack.Trust me you won't be disappointed;-) (PS: I am in no way associated with Milwaukee tools, financially, romantically or otherwise:-)
500 IN-LBS is kind of on the weak/low side. If you attach a 6-inch (not 8-inch) auger bit, and if ice is not too thick, you shall be ok I say.

I bought a Bosch DDS181 this year with 600 inch lbs. I used it for the first time yesterday with a 6 inch auger and it flew through the ice like a hot knife through butter. That drill kit can be had with charger and batteries for less than $200 on amazon.ca

I got one of these as well. Work great for half of a hole. You gotta keep your drill and batteries from freezing to have a shot at more than one hole. Plus the adapter is now fused to the chuck of the brand new dewalt drill i bought. Because that is what clam recommend. I went and got the exact specified drill in the manual. Spend the money on a gas auger save yourself the hassel. Thats what i say.

i also run the Milwaukee M18 fuel with 4.0 amp batteries and cut 20+ holes with one battery. Make sure you go with a drill that has a brushless motor, brushed motors rub and in really cold weather this tighter friction is what causes the poor performance, i actually have the M18 brushed drill as well and this only gets 6-10 holes so i switched to the Fuel last year. another tip when really cold i pop the battery off and keep them in a dry box but you wont be disappointed i tried other drills and the Milwaukee fuel is the best one IMO, no affiliation to them i just like to fish but if a Milwaukee rep wants to give me a 9amp battery to test i would jump at the chance...lol

on the subject of Parking,
What is defined as "overnight parking"?
I saw a sign there that says no overnight parking and I was wondering what time that would come into effect? (I mean these days it starts getting dark at 5, does that mean I can get a ticket?)
Or what about if I got there before the sun rises?

Shesh! By 7am the sun is already up and I want to start drilling holes!
Is that a new law? I never heard of it last year and I was ice fishing around simcoe quite a bit!

has anyone been out the past couple of days on the bay at glenwoods?
i was fishing over the weekend there, with lots of action on the ice. with the past two days temperature, i was curious if it has affected the ice conditions there. i want to head there again in a day or two to try my luck again.
