Hey guys. Last year I got a Eskimo quick fish 2 for Christmas. I went to set it up yesterday and I snapped one of the fibreglass rods. I didn't even pull it hard. What would you guys recommend I do? Would they cover that under warranty or can I buy the fibreglass pole myself?

Have the same hut new this year. Usally fish alone so is great for one. But compared to the Ht cube I have and the clam cube the eskimo hubs seem hard to open. Maybe need to be broke in a little. That said you cannot force the hubs. If it will not pull easy try the next one or look around the folds to make sure nothing caught. I have duck taped them in the past. If it just splintered but stayed together
those are the same diameter. I have the same hut and had the same problem. take the old one out, cut the new one to size and glue it in. run a knife along the glue on the old one then take some plyers to pull it out.

I had a ht 4 man pop up last year and it did the same thing. They are difficult to set up when your alone. I took it back (Canadian tire) for a refund 3 months after purchase and got a one man Rapala flip over at cabelas, I couldn't be happier with it. If your always going out by yourself I would suggest getting one. Way quicker to set up and easier.

Some help to avoid this in the future when setting up solo. Set 1 anchor first and pop 1 side that faces the wind. Proceed to tie down the one side then pop the roof and opposite side. Proceed to pop the remaining sides either pulling or going inside and pushing them out. Then simply square up and anchor the remaining sides. When I take the hut down I pull the roof down first then all sides except the one facing the wind which I save for last. I have the clam thermal vista and it takes me less then 10 minutes to set up and less than 5 to take down. The oversize bag makes putting it away a breeze.

I have the Clam XL 4000 and at the end of last winter one of my poles broke. So I emailed Clam just before my one year was up and they where great they told me to take a picture of the broken pole I told them I did not have the bill of sale they said no problem and sent me a hub with three poles what great customer service they have.

You can get fiberglass rod replacements for tents at can tire in the camping section. I used thfm to fix my rapala hut. Get a can of spray adhesive as well to glue the pole to tge inside of any metal fittings you may need to extend the length of the pole if needed. T8ge fittings come in with the pole. Or scab some pole from an old tent.
