Hey guys - I've seen a number of posts about the east side of Cooks Bay having some ice... does anyone know if there's ice on the west side around Gilford Beach / Cooks Bay Marina? Hoping to get out this weekend if the temperatures drop enough and the ice is safe.

Any insights greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Thanks! Do you know if the ice is starting to build, or still mostly open?

if you walk out on to the white ice at Guilford, you'll go out about 30 yards and then go through as it was just a skim out there before the rain came. The white stuff may not even be safe after the rain.

Saw 2 to 3 huts or shanties out there at 12pm. The wind was too extreme for me to go out.

Thanks all - I'll check back in Friday afternoon... hopefully a few days of cold weather should improve the conditions, fingers crossed.
