Taking Pictures of Out of Season Fish, Be Aware of the Regulations

Some of us fish for memories and enjoy the catch for sport. As long as the fish goes back safely and lives healthy who gives a Sh!t if a picture was taken. The only times I get annoyed is when the fish is passed around like a joint to different people to take pics. The regulations states release immediately so you cannot disputes. But i have not heard anyone been fine for taking a picture yet... so please stop making this an issue before we know it.... reaching for the pilers is taking too much time and people will start b!tching you should cut your line instead.

why not have your mate take a picture of the fish while you are reviving it in the water to be released. a win, win, for both the fish and yourself.

only an idiot mnr officer would write you a ticket for that...if he was beside you in the act.

i mean come on folks. is here not more important problems in the world today than some trivial topic about taking a picture of a fish out of season.

I didn't start this thread to create controversy or to get people upset!

There are people out there who would be unaware that the regulation exists. If they have read this, now they know. That was my intent in posting it.

You can compare it to the posted road speed limits. We all know they are there and we all speed. When we speed we take our chances.

If you take a picture of an OOS fish--same thing in my mind. You are taking your chances.

Having said all that, if I was out with a buddy and no one else was around and I caught a big fish that was OOS, I would probably take a picture before I put it back.

What I would not do, is post a pic on a public forum.

Exact reason when I posted about a great trip on Niagara river and zero photos as the fish were OOS....

I used to share a lot about my fishing trips on here and have done very little of that recently. Now I am on here more to discuss these stuff rather then fishing trips. There are always people commenting on how you hold a fish, why you keep a fish, and give the locations where you fish. This forum now has 10,000+ members. Seems a lot of eyes and ears and not much voice from most.
