Taking Pictures of Out of Season Fish, Be Aware of the Regulations

I'll never post a picture again . More are out to have a hoe down then enjoy the positive side

Spoke with MNR on this a while back, the officer said his interpretation of it is, if the fish was handled carefully, not injured, and release right after the photo, there's no problem. He said its like cops on the 401, they could ding you doing 110 for a ticket, but they wont, as long as your not swerving and acting dangerous. Now if you sat there for 5 mins to get perfect angles and stuff then its an unreasonable delay, and you'll get a ticket, just like doing 50 in a 100 zone. This seems to be pretty common opinion between MNR, remember, they are also fishermen just like us, and they know that regardless of season you want a picture with that 60 inch musky. Just like driving 10 over the speed limit, just because 99% of cops will give it to you, doesn't mean they cant, and some could ding ya for it. Personal opinion, I'm taking a photo if I catch something like that.

Must be the guy who drives exactly 100 on the highway too. Cause rules are rules right? Rules are there, but just like all rules, there's grey areas, and there's also a reasonable amount of give to said rules. Just like speed limits, you can ticketed for even 1km/h over the speed limit (Challenge it and id bet money its thrown out, point still stands) but that would only happen if its in conjunction with other thing, same with this law.

All I meant is that ya, for sure if you go over the speed limit, you really can't argue if you get a ticket
