West side of cooks had open water a couple hundred feet from shore yesterday. If the wind calms down there is a good chance the bay can cap off and start making good ice. A solid week once capped off should make some of us happy!

Was the end of Gilford Rd and kontiki marina 15 minutes ago and she a wide open after 150 200 meters out. Pump man been busy baracidng the pump and putting snow around it. Hopefully that will stop the flow from ruining the access to the lake.

As for a someone who is ice virgin, Would it be ok to get out there, say Monday?

You would be better off going to the east side,safer imo.

We walked out 300m away from the shore.

No snows at all on the ice, it was bit slippery but pretty easy to move our sleds:)

Sure, we had a virgin too. There weren't many jumbos but we 5 each got 20+ perches (but as you know, you have to drill several holes and find out where they are, also we did cumming). The water depth was 7ft from the bottom, so we could see how the perches attacking our minnows through the hole, and it was a great moment. Hope you enjoy at Monday:)
