With a flasher you will always know whats going on under you. Will show you every fish that swims under you. Suspended fish you wouldn't know we're there. It will show you how fish react to lures and jigging techniques. It's a must if your serious about ice fishing.

Flashers or graphs( some are both) are super helpful on the ice. Knowing the depth is always important for finding the right spots. Also, seeing the fish on the screen helps in several ways besides the obvious. You can pattern what depth the fish are hanging out at, their levels of aggression, etc. If your graph has history you can see the jigging cadence that caught the fish as well. I would sell the Deeper and get a real flasher. I believe the Lowrance Elite 4-x Ice Machine (flasher-graph combo) is only around $300, it's what we use and it works great. They have more recent models of it too or slightly different models running 250-350, such as HOOK-4, etc. Vexilar's FL-8SE is listed at $320. Some of the prices may be USD unfortunately, so expect to pay more. Good luck this season

Buy a dual and beside which frame you like better from a flasher or graph screen, l prefer the graph scream, but it does take out the guessing game if fish is under or around you!

I don't have a flasher personally but I have almost unlimited access to one. If I don't have a chance to pick it up before I get out fishing I will still go fishing but my tactics change drastically. I will be just blindly jigging on or near bottom for whiteys and hope for the best instead of employing all the exciting laker tactics that electronics allow.

A flasher or graph is a great piece of equipment and highly addictive. Try it once and you’ll be hooked for life. Buy the best you can afford, you won’t regret it.
