There are pop-huts. There are ATVs and snowmobiles. And there is a half-naked gentleman roaming on ice:-)
About 700 or 800 yard off shore, ice is around 7 inches thick with the bottom 2 inches of very good quality/black ice where water is only 7 feet deep:-)

lol that shirtless guy was skiing by my hut....lol
i had to take a double look. classic.
lol. By the way, I think you were fishing quite closer to shore than where I was. But then where I was, water is only 7 feed deep. How deep were you fishing today if I may ask?

ya. i was in about 5-6 feet.
but i was still in the vicinity of the other huts.
when i got there most of the huts were already out. i didn't want to infringe on those guys. i was still within 5- to a 100 yards from all of them. and you i guess....lol
i was just glad to get out finally for the first time ever.
it was a nice felling getting my rod wet in ice water.

i saw that ,too.
I couldn't believe that not-too-small aircraft would land on this early ice, taxed or rolled like a few hundred feet on the ice, and then took off again.
By the way, I was fishing quite further out on ice alone in the open (didn't take my pop-up hut with me today)

Hi James.... I recall seeing you out there today but did not realize it was you. I was the one in the green pop up and my two other buddies beside me. Looks like you did much better than us! Next time you see us, please drop by and say hi. Grasshopper
