Maybe some help for you. If it is still viable, try "pure-gas.org". This is a list of places in U S and Canada that sell ethanol free gas. I haven't made use of this for a year or more so don't know how up to date it is. Lots of luck to you.

thanks for all the advice, as for FISHERMAN its not due to lack of maintenance.......... I did try sea foam and a fresh tank of gas, go it running great again, but the gas is still dripping out of the carb area, going to take it to Larry's small engine shop in town.

The best fuel for these small engines is the premixed fuel you get at Home Depot where the chainsaws are. Comes premixed at 40:1 and never goes bad they also have for 4 stroke. A little pricey but I have never had a problem starting mine.

The blades I posted are for a Finn Bore lll 8" because someone asked about them...

By maintenance, I mean end of season in the spring. Last tank gets a good shot before running it dry. That way things don't get gummy in the carb.

I fix small engines and most of my fixes are to do with stale gas...that has turned to varsol.....gummy gas.....Gas with Ethanol gums up faster than without and it also burns hotter due to the Ethanol which is alcohol.

Recommendation 1.....Use Shell premium....the only gas in Canada without Ethanol....use for all 2 and 4 cycle engines especially chainsaws....due to their high RPM.

Recommendation 2....Always add stabilizer to your gas can.....buy at CTC....it will make gas last 5 months without gum.....adding it to your can ensures that when you put the machine away it has stabilizer through the whole fuel system. BTW the small bottle of stabilizer once opened is only good for 2 years....after that get a new one.

Recommendation 3.....Spring and Fall empty your fuel can into the car.....then start fresh.....that ensures that you are always have fresh fuel in your machine.

Do the above and you will avoid yourself a lot of headaches and repair......the stabilizer is cheaper to buy then draining and cleaning your gas tank and carburetor or in some severe cases replacing the carburetor.......a carburetor is worth between 30 and 100 bucks.....stabilizer is about 7 to 12 bucks depending on size.......having your fuel system cleaned runs from 65 to 150 bucks........tight lines guys.

PS.....I bought a 71cc Eskimo Shark last year and love the machine.....great auger....can be heavy for the meek....lol.

I only use Shell V power in all my gas small engines. The tip about adding stabilizer to your fuel can is another thing I always do.

Fyi, I puchase gas for my gas pump from ultramar. It's non ethanol ,not sure if it's the same at their stations.

I use True Fuel,they sell it at CT it comes in a can pre mixed 40:1 or 50:1 and contains zero ethanol.Someone on this board recommended it a few years ago, so I thought I,d give it a shot.Im going on season 4 now with no fuel or starting issues on my Eskimo 51c.

Great advice there. Two weeks ago when we got the big snowfall seven snowblowers magically appeared at my house not running or hardly running. As a small engine mechanic those are my recommendations as well as in winter I should be servicing lawn equipment and summer I should be servicing snowblowers lol.

Ultramar premium has no ethanol and is all I use in my outboard, lawn mowers, augers and sled. Still need to use a premium fuel stabilizer. I use Startron and have had no issues. At the end of the each season though I do try to run them dry to leave the carb and fuel lines empty.

But how much of the last guy's ethanol filled regular gas is left in the lines between the in ground tanks and the nozzle before the premium gets there? Sometimes the tanks are quite a way from the pumps and nobody has separate pumps for premium anymore so if you are filling your mix jerry can for an ice auger or string trimmer it's generally only 5 or 10L. If 2L(for example) of regular is pumped through the lines before the premium starts flowing you aren't very ethanol free are you? I always throw 5 bucks in my vehicle first before I fill my jerry can.

I run the same gas auger but when it is cold it won't start. I have to put it in the hut by the heater for 5 minutes and than it will start. I run high test mixed fuel so I don't know what the problem is.
