It's kinda odd but I was out getting coffee and just happens to get the idea to check the good old little lake for ice. And guess why boys were almost there gentlemen hardwater is apon us. there's a good inch of ice at the shore couldn't check out any distance but there's not a sight of water.

There's been posting on here that little lake is not that great anymore to fish due to all the construction that's been going around the lake in the passed year.

Smallies? In Little?
I have fished there a lot over the past few years and always only thought there were largemouth there. Thats interesting if there are smallies there...such a shallow lake for em.

I gotta agree with VanSlyke. I've fished that lake all the time and never got a smallie. Largies and pikes only.

Such a gross lake. The fertilizer from the golf course didn't help matters much. The dude that ran the boat rental was even saying nothing of size was being pulled from that lake. There's the odd one in there though.

Hahaha, I wouldn't call it a jem, not anymore anyway.

The boat rental place is shut down now, and once they start construction on the new condos going in there maybe it'll give time for the fish population to bounce back. When I was a kid I loved it cause it is right near my house a quick bike ride and I was there. Over the years the water quality and fish sizes and numbers have all decreased.

Have fun fishing it! if you catch fish there I am happy for you. I would rather go else where.

I've had double digit days on that lake before either the average size pike of 2 to 3 lbs. One summer though my buddy pulled out a pig of a pike that was just under 12lbs. Lots of pressure in the summer months for sure and I've seen pontoons with like 10 people on it on the regular

Dont get me wrong, it used to be a great small local lake to fish and still is a half decent place to get out quickly or take the kids. But it has declined rapidly in the last two years with all the major construction dranining into the lake. Three years ago i could go there and catch 3-5 nice bass and 6-10 pike.
It may be that all my spots were ruined and i need to find new ones but its a small lake and ive explored most of it. I have seen some huge pike in there for sure and seen some massive splashes of something big feeding top water.
