I have a tank top and it work well for me. I bought two 5 lbs tanks in Bradford and got them filled at Costco for under two dollars each. I think it's a much cheaper way to go in the long run. To be fair I've never had a buddy heater, but I'm sure I would love it if I did. Just not replacing the 1 pounders all the time.

I understand safety concerns with the Coleman stove having an open flame but one of my fondest memories of ice fishing was one day we cooked a pound of bacon among other things and I can just remember being so happy the rest of the afternoon having a warm hut that smelled like bacon! Pretty sure it was also the first time I had fished in a hut and with heat but smelling the bacon all day was a thing of beauty!
